Nothing is dieing back, everything seems to think it is spring and is going in to growth period. The only thing I can say is the grass is slowing down and I have recovered most of the back yard.

"I have recovered most of the back yard. LOL, Glenn. I know that feeling. When I lived further South, my yard was totally out of control in the summer, and I just couldn't keep up. Now I have just enough yard for me to take care of. Yes, sometimes I'd love to have space to plant fruit trees, but the weeds -- eck!

Yeah this year the back yard got out of hand by the time I would get home from working all day in the heat I just couldn't mow in the heat and could not get anyone else to. It just had to wait until it cooled down. Not much got done outside this summer and I am trying to catch up.

Some morning glories have died back and some, like this hybrid of mine are just getting started,

That's really beautiful, Sultry! My morning glories are long gone, although some seeds sprouted and are trying to grow. My neighbor's are still hanging in there, and his Moon Flower is still blooming. I got some seeds from it and hope to grow some next year.

I know about that. I cannot for the life of me get a decent picture of the deep purple and burgundy flowers in my yard. I always have to put them into Paint Shop Pro and darken them.

So I got the first signs of fall. All the leaves on my peach fell off and of course it started blooming. This is a full month later than normal. Most things have not died back even my plumara is still blooming. I think I am in for a warm winter. Even the oaks are dropping there acorns late out in bulk creek wma. Most years they drop in September out there but they are just getting started.
