I do think the plants and candle sticks look a little strange and untidy. So good choice to update. Because it is just a hallway I am guessing it does not get to much use, its functionality is simply to pass through it. Because of this, I would keep it clear and just hang a couple pieces of artwork on the walls. You could use mirrors.

It you are set on having plants, maybe narrowing it down to one. A small, simple, leafy tree perhaps?

Yes I was def thinking some unique mirrors on the wall but since our place is so small space is at a premium! I was thinking of a great corner bookcase in addition to the mirror and having my scraggly plants on the shelves ;)

With a dresser like that would it make more sense for it to face you (if looking straight at the photo) or sideways?

With a dresser, just place it in the space. Try both walls and see which you're more comfortable with.

Dresser is a great option. Do either of the walls point toward a window? A hanging a mirror on either one of those walls in the corner would help to expand the space and make it feel bigger.

There's a skylight right above the corner which is why that jasmine plant is growing up like crazy :)

A long mirror would be ideal or a fountain
