I'm sorry, could you please explain what you mean by "eliptical top" instead of square top. I would be painting the door as well, just like in the picture.

Elliptical top is the radius arch on top of the door. See the picture how the top of the door is not square top like normal doors but has more of a half arch or eyebrown arch, that is called elliptical shape or elliptical top. Also, see in the picture that the top glass pieces have a slight curve to it instead of square like the other glass pieces, this is because of the arch in the top of the doors which has to be designed like that. Your door might be normal square top or square shape which is fine also. These kind of French doors can come in square, elliptical or full radius arch top.

I really like the arch, that is what caught my eye. Our contractor can change the shape of the existing square door frame to the arched frame. I see that you use Mohagany, please excuse my ignorance but isn't that a higher grade of wood that looks better stained than painted?

Yes, mahogany is a higher grade of wood but can be painted as well but keep in mind if you paint doors versus staining doors than you cover up alot of the beautiful part of wood which is the "grain". We also have distressed wood like knotty alder which is good to paint also. I am attaching a picture of a knotty alder wood door which has a little distress look to it. Also, a art glass door we just did for a customer made out of solid mahogany but painted in white so you see what mahogany looks like painted instead of stained.
