A light in the closet is nice, but lighted rods? Come on, sounds like a real gimmick.

I think it's the closet equivalent of kitchen's under counter lighting. I think they'd be useful if you have a closet full of black and navy things ... but if you lean towards more colorful clothes (like me), I don't see the point.

I agree that a regular old closet light would be a better option. There is very little useable surface area to a closet rod from which to place the light. The logistics don't seem to be favorable, and why? Why not a real light?

Lighted closet rods are not a replacement for good overall closet lighting but in addition to it. They have an LED strip, typically daylight balanced, built in to the rod to provide better light on to what's hanging there.

So, when your lighted closet rod breaks, the batteries run down, or whatever, all you have left is a regular old closet rod.

It sounds like a complication waiting to happen.

Why complicate something so simple as a closet rod?

Don't waste your money.
