Looking to purchase a 36" duel fuel range, help!

Does anyone have a Verona range? The price is good, but didn't know if that was because they are not really worth spending the money on or not. I was also looking at Bertazzoni, BlueStar, Fulgor, and Jennair. Anyone have any advice or recommendations?? Thoughts and feedback is greatly appreciated!

I do not think Verona is comparable to some of the others you reference. I did way more research than I should have and ended up with a 36" BlueStar RNB (cobalt blue!). I love it! The burners are amazing for simmer or bringing food to a fast boil. I also considered Wolf, Miele, JennAir & Thermador, but nothing could compare to the open burners on the BlueStar. They're super easy to clean. JennAir, Miele and Thermador have some amazing rebates for multiple appliance purchases but I chose to mix and match my appliances based on features I wanted. I've been using my BlueStar for ~6 months and am happy with my purchase!

I should add that my BlueStar is not dual fuel (which I initially wanted) but I haven't had any issues with using a gas oven.

Is this replacing another range or a total remodel? What type of cooking and baking do you do? What type of cookware do you have?

Total remodel. I'm not a professional cook but like to push the limits. I do not bake a lot of pastries/cakes but I do bake bread and use the oven for other baking purposes.

Mixed bag of cookware. Everything from costco specials to Le Creuset/All Clad

Alishaes, that is helpful to know how you use your range and the BS sounds like a good fit for you, but am curious to hear from Brittany too.

We are building and want something nice, but still have a budget. My husband is the cook in the house, and I bake occasionally. He likes to cook all different kinds of things, and we would like to start hosting holidays as well, and he feels this would make things a lot easier. We currently have Food Network cookware we use.

Alishaes I know the Verona is not really comparable to the others, but since it is quite a bit cheaper, I didn’t know if it was decent at least and maybe worth it. I am trying to do as much research and get opinions. Appliances are super expensive, I hope to buy quality so I won’t have to be calling a service repair person all the time.

We've been very pleased with our 36" duel fuel KitchenAide. I like it MUCH better, even the gas top, than my 48" Thermadore. We had a 30" KitchenAide duel fuel in our vacation house and that's what sold us, so two good experiences.

If you are building, I would consider getting a rangetop and separate wall oven. You can pick each one to be the best for your needs. You may want to get a 36" BS rangetop and get a more basic oven. A 36" oven is a lot more to heat up than a 30" So be sure to check preheat times. Another consideration would be a 30" rangetop plus a couple of portable induction burners for the times you need more burners. This might be a way to have really great burners that would suffice 95% of the time with less expenditure.

If you get an all gas range, as Malabacat says, BS ranges also come in the RNB and RCS star shaped uncapped burners. They also have a sealed, capped ring burner.

We have already told the cabinet company we were doing a range, no wall oven, and that will put the cabinet process way behind

I've had a bluestar 48" RNB for 12 years now and am in the process of building again and wouldn't trade it for anything!! I am a cook/caterer and you cannot kill these things!!! besides being more powerful than any other ive looked at if you need any type of service ever it is so simple I learned to do it myself! Putting it in the new house too!

Wow, thank you! I know you said you are a chef/cater but how did like it not having a timer or clock at first?

I am also a chef/ caterer / kitchen designer I have a Bertazzoni all gas 6 burner range I l;ove it but I also have double wall ovens all electric both of the appliances have convection. The reason I have both electric and gas is because there are certain things that bake better in a gas oven and bread and piza are two. My wall ovens have a timer and clock som not an issue with the range .

We put the 36” KitchenAid pro style dual fuel range in when we custom built 7 years ago. It has 4 gas burners and an electric griddle (you can also have a grill or 2 more burners if you prefer.) It has been absolutely perfect. The gas burners are so responsive, and I’ve had no issues keeping them clean. We have kids so use the griddle a lot for pancakes, grilled cheese, etc...but if you cook a lot you might prefer the extra burners. Oven cooks very evenly...never had a single problem. I don’t know how it compares to the ones you are looking at, price wise. I will say, it is a very good-looking appliance...very beefy and substantial.
