I currently have all my window space used so I have a big home make box cabinet with 4 foot shop lights. 6 tubes up top and 6 tubes bottom level. Bottom can hold 3 ft. tall plants and top 2-1/2 ft. I purchased 4 ft. x 1 ft. door mirrors in back and front. Seems to be good for my Sanseveria. Total cabinet measurements are 6 ft. tall by 2 ft. deep by 4 ft. wide. Plywood and 2x4 construction. Not to best to look at but practical.

I hope you are able to put some photos up. I would really like to see what you are dealing with. This home is going to have to deal with space considerations, as well. The above practical unit would be nice to see, too. Please don't give up on getting us some photos. You might have something that could inspire me.

Yes, mirrors do sound interesting. You have a large space and good windows. Everything looks so neat, clean, and well ordered. I could not manage that in my space, any of it!

Above set up is mostly for odds and ends under open shop lights. Below is set up I mentioned above in first post.

Upgraded the standard T-8 bulbs to LED'S @ 5000 K.

The front mirrors have 1/4 holes in corners to easily remove them off studs for watering or any maintance. Don't have current pictures and now have twice as many sans as back then.

That is in no way lame. I'd be proud to have it in my home. I've seen the aquariums before. Love the look of it. I spent some years building habitats for lizards, tarantulas, scorpions, and small snakes. Your fish tank set up reminds me of that time. I loved the smell over the top of them, so green and clean. Are you drilling into the glass of the mirrors? I'm getting ideas that will save on space, now.

The mirrors come with a 1 in. frame made of plastic. I drilled into the plastic almost to the mirror.

I even bough a cracked mirror. Last one and on sale for $4. Told check out lady that it is no big deal to me. Having purchased 6 at that time. They were $10 ea.

I never was good at glass cutting. Out of the frame they almost fit inside my 55 gal. tank. Had to tape it to the outside instead.

I'm thinking shelving around the walls of the bedroom. Light from that room can help the whole place. Your mirrors could help with the length, width needed whether placed behind or below. We are stuck inside during the wArm months, and the very coldest. More light during these times is going to be so beneficial, if I can figure something out. We have to go up, we have no 'out ' available.

Owen, I would love a living room with your exposure and the life you've brought into the space. It looks like serious hobby, and pleasure. I managed to get most of my plants on a small section of kitchen counter near the pass through. It would be nice to be able to walk by them, or to sit and enjoy. I have to stand and pay attention to them quite frequently, with a cup of tea or coffee. Your room has TV, windows, and Plant TV. Looks like a nice place to be.

Years ago I collected Hedera Helix - over 180 varieties - that were “cramped” in a smaller space...not as though you let a little thing like spacial constraints mess with your passion;). Long story short, absolutely great memories and my quality of life has never been higher than it was then; very fun and very GREEN in that room! Certainly no worse than what I currently have.

I had no idea of the variety of Hedera Helix. Now I'll have to take a gander. I'm limiting myself to Sansevieria this time around, and my Grammas holiday cactus, with the aim of lower maintenance. Only, that's not happening! I'm just a little over the moon to have plants again. They feel like old friends that I have not seen for many years. Stush's aquarium set ups are just flat nice to look at. The plants are showcased, and deservedly so.

A Patens ignited my interest in plants again, and in Sansevieria. I had no idea that there were so many forms. It looks like you have many of them! And you have more to bring to the area?

I'm hoping others will see you expansion title and look here. Maybe some some more people will show how they share their space with their plants. I dream of having a Jungle Room again, where I can sit with my husband, a good dog, and a cuppa something warm and sweet. How I could fill a room if I had those windows! Keep some photos coming!
