i would like to see an upgrade on the lamp. I would also like to not see the stacks of things or is that temp, i mean it isok in some offices, but not this one to high style. do you have a desk or are you using the dining room table?

Seems 1 item could be placed elsewhere, so the balance of styles is better: the wing-y chair probably. It competes with the fancier chairs...?

Also too hard to figure the colors - a photo in daylight?

Take the curtains down it makes it look old and heavy. Other things are Ok, maybe more industrial pendant light if you can afford to change.

I'm confused - will this be an office or are you using it as a dining room? Will the door be uncovered regularly?

I like the eclectic look and think the wing chair is cool with the arms chairs. I like the glass table - it opens up the space. The short white cabinets with mirrors above look good too.

I'm not in love with the tall white unit. It makes me feel like the walls are closing in. Do you need that much storage? What do you keep in there? Could you do open industrial shelving instead and organize things in containers? Could you do low shelving?

I don't know if these shelves are the right idea, but just something a little less fortress like:

Office and dining room fulfill such different functions that I'm having difficulty with the concept of combining them (though I have used the dining table as a temporary workspace at times). How much time do you anticipate spending in the office?

We have a glass dining table, which looks great - when it is cleaned. We clean it after we use it, which is OK with a dining table that gets cleared after meals. I would not want to have to clear everything off my desk every day to clean it.

Do you use a computer or other electronic devices for work? If so, a desk that you can fix a keyboard shelf onto would probably be better for posture. With your layout, you also have the issue of cables across the floor to the desk. For full-time working, I think you also need an adjustable desk chair.

As pointed out above, I think the white unit makes the room look small. It also looks as though the units/doors do not properly align with each other. However, they do cover a large part of the painted brick, which for me is a positive. I'm OK with the drapes, as long as they extend the full length of the wall (including the front door).

If it were my house, I would want to decide what the primary function of the room is going to be (office or dining) and focus on that, but try to build in some flexibility to serve its secondary function.

It's the big white cabinets that throw me, perhaps something more open would look better, it feels a bit claustrophobic to me. Brighter wider curtains

Would it have looked better to place the big white cabinet on the opposite wall seeing you have the wall that jolts out and leaves a bit of an alcove

You have a brick feature wall that you’re covering with a super modern unit, and the mirrors are reflecting that. Looks more like a temporary office with a dining table thrown in. The drapes and rug are too dark for an office. I think you need to pick a lane and get in it:)

There is way too much stuff in this room. That big white storage thing, a file cabinet and another thing to hold things and then that low slung white storage thing. I’d bring in an organizer if you can’t pare it down and eliminate a lot of what you’re holding onto. In today’s paperless world, that’s easy. It would be my taste to highlight the brick wall and keep your table, chairs & wing chair. Get rid of all the white furniture (looks like the 70’s) and use some of the industrial ideas already given here.
