Why would you put a semi flush light over a dining table?

Hi Jan,

it's not a dining table. it's an informal eat in kitchen table.

with that being said, its what I want for a few reasons

1. I don't want the sightlines from my to my family room obstructed by a light hanging down.

2. the table isn't quite centered under the light and I don't want to have the light moved so this will help make that less noticeable

3. its what I want in my house and we aren't moving anytime soon so I don't need to decorate to appeal to potential buyers!
