What colors do you find relaxing, soothing, inviting?

Lot of colors are relaxing for me. Navy, slate/grey, silver, even black.

I am trying to avoid too much white (kids will make it messy too quickly).

I like navy and sage together but worry that navy might be too dark for your room. What's your budget? Sales galore right now. I was looking through Wayfair and Pier1 and they have a lot of bedding and curtains on sale or on clearance.

Do you like prints? It can be difficult to get exact colour matches on curtains and bedding but when you have a print and a solid, it can be less noticeable. Is your headboard black?

Your wall colour is pretty. Sage is very versatile so I'm sure people will have plenty of suggestions for you.

Hard to tell on monitor if it's a colour match but the comforter gives you plenty of colour options for curtains. I like the idea of staying close to the wall colour for curtains, especially in a bedroom. Makes it enveloping.

Any thoughts on the wall art and their placement?

I wouldn't put any wall art on the TV or headboard walls but you have room on the other two walls. What speaks to you?

Speaking of the TV, did you have plans to hang it on the wall? In other words, did your walk-in closet eliminate the need for a storage piece in the bedroom?

Decoenthusiaste is right that shades or blinds would be better with your baseboard heat but there's no law that says hemming curtains to take that into account can't be done. It's your bedroom, not a public space.

How do you feel about purple? A dusky shade could be lovely with sage walls.

Beings the space is small your wall decor could just be a small series of photography/prints that you like. I also noticed the lamps resting on the headboard. An alternative option is hanging pendants in lieu of lamps. Similar to below. Good luck!

Yes, a very tight space, but to make it more serene, here are some things you can consider:

--Plain white curtains across the entire back wall with bamboo shades like these. Then the same shades on the window with no curtains.

--Smaller white lampshades on the lamps.

--Get oversized light colored sage patterned pillows and shams to lean against and provide something light against the very dark headboard as shown in the two photos

--Get light bedding that coordinates with the pillow shams.

--Art for the wall--dusk subject with some greens.. I can't tell from your photos where to put it. (Remove the clock from over the door and consider removing the TV or just getting a much smaller one.) Keep the surfaces as clutter free as possible and the bed made except when you're in it so that your bedroom is simple and serene.

Change out headboard; it is wasting space...maybe a platform bed?

Roman shades or wood blinds or cell shades in the windows to add privacy, darkness, and expand the space.

This room could work.....accent wall color in deep tones, creamy white on all the others.

Once night stand with drawers for storage, etc, slim floor lamp for more light, WOW art, floor to ceiling window treatment; line linen type curtains would hang nicely.....fun bedding ....check out IKEA, Target for fun chic budget looks....and make sure your lamps are a bit taller than the headboard for balance; you want statement lamps art everything....and go solid but color blocking....good luck.

Here are some ideas you can try. Instead of lamps, try sconces, or hanging lights. Then add thick white curtains (or a nice patterned one) behind the bed since you have a lovely window there.
