I am well aware of the "fad" of using crystal chandeliers just about anywhere, but I don't think they look right anywhere but in a very traditional, rather grand space. They're also a HUGE nuisance to keep clean! I wouldn't have one unless I had "staff"! Ha!

Just return the light fixture and take your time finding what you really think will work. It's not a huge crises.

The selections in your home are all over the place, and not in a good way.

• I don't know what to say about the stereo rack with the spinet piano area with the beige color palette & Pendleton striped blanket

You can't call it eclectic because even eclectic items need to work together. Just install another drum shade chandelier and at least two light fixtures will relate.

The Empire might work in a more toned down look with wood beads, Still keeping Satin nickel to compliment the existing drum semi-flush. I may agree that a Simpler design might be bast.

HI -- I think you have romantic taste and you are attracted to the pretty glittery things . The fixture is beautiful ! They can be dazzling when you see them in the store . You are not the only one that falls in love that way . Take photos of all the fixtures you have now and go to a good lighting shop and they may be able to help you bring your lighting choices together. You don't need to buy there if the prices are not for you , but good to learn from. All the fixtures should relate to each other . You do need a little help with some of your decor if that is what you want . I love your Hudson Bay blanket !

Get yourself a consult with a designer. Even a few hours would help. You are all over the place with everything, and sugar coating the fact won't help. Less "unique" and a more thoughtful selection process is in order. : )

Hi, Lea...Just wanted to say that I love your copper shoe rack...So why not continue that look up on the ceiling?

Not sure what size you need, but they're all over the place as far a price goes...From Ikea to custom metalwork....You could even diy one. And you can take your existing drum light and add a copper touch to coordinate the two...

I honestly think that with a light fixture so high up, nobody will know if it's real copper (expensive) or not...unless they bring a ladder to your house, in which case they need to leave, pronto.

I love the shoe rack. Here's my suggestion for a light fixture. Kind of eclectic, kind of vintage.

Keep all the cool things you have and decorate your house around them. Love to see a room with plants, classic made in the USA blankets and a piano. Those are the things that make your space interesting. There are a lot of soulless rooms pictured on Houzz.

Well said, Oly. We could do with some manners around here. There is absolutely no call for some of the tactless comments made in this forum. Please refrain from trying to wrap a bow around thoughtlessness and present it as helpfulness. We ain't buying it.

I must have a thick skin because when I ask for a professional‘s opinion or help I appreciate brutal honesty. ... e.g., when I started working out with my trainer a few years ago, he looked at me & said “ you’re skinny “ (& not in a good way , lol ), & also commented on my lack of strength.

I like the light fixture and your shoe rack. However, I understand it's too large and not quite working for you. I got some unique fixtures by shopping at some Restore (habitat for humanity) and other thrift shops. Some I rewired, added new chain, spray painted base plate, etc., others in pretty good shape.

You might find a pretty cut glass crystal single pendant large enough for your back room. Also, try ebay for some really cool vintage fixtures that might need a little sprucing up.... I figure you made that shoe rack so you must be handy :)
