Whirlpool and Maytag are siblings ... different cosmetics and feature-combinations ... Whirlpool is the owning-company of both brands (and some others).

All frontloaders nowadays are considered HE. The Maytag that's listed as not being so probably is an error in the web site coding.

Maytag's 10-yr warranty says it covers only the wash/spin basket/drum and drive motor (not the outer tub, control panel, computer boards, pump, water valves, or anything else) ... neither of which is a common failure, so the warranty is more for marketing purposes than to cover parts that are likely to fail. It may be an advantage IF the basket/drum coverage also covers the drum support (aka spider) which is a common failure after approx 5 years if the machine is not used with good habits. You'd have to ask Maytag directly (phone reps may not have a clue) or look at parts diagrams to determine if the support is listed as a separate part (not covered) or included as part/parcel with the drum (covered).

Your choice between the three machines is which one catches your fancy for appearance and features.

Thank you so much Dadoes. You sure do know a lot about these things. I don't have to make a decision right this minute as I can still use my washer for awhile...I still need to figure out the model number to get an accurate price to replace the motor though.

If I do go new, I really don't want to spend double for a matching set but they sure do look sharp when their matched as a pair ;-)
