Enjoying 'Le Pactole'

Here's a Tea Rose that's not talked about much.

'Le Pactole' -- (Tea, Miellez, before 1837) Named for the river in Asia Minor where Midas washed himself clean of the curse of the Golden Touch, turning the sands of the river bank to gold.

Breeding: Lamarque (noisette, Maréchal, 1830) × Parks' Yellow Tea-scented China

'Le Pactole' was lost from commerce, and I believe ruled extinct -- until Botanist Fred Boutin found it, and eventually identified it.

I had it, loved it, and lost it, and now I have it again. Here, it was disease-free, and a prolific bloomer.

This is my new plant ... ready now to go into the ground.

This was my old plant -- may it rest in peace. This shows the rich yellow tint.
