Hmm, good points, with the city now being nazis about nothing more than 14 inches within 12 foot of the road, grass mown or city will mow at your expense, etc. Maybe I should be more concerned, lest they fine me for something.

I honestly don't think that will be strong enough to support the weight of a healthy, established passionflower vine - looks like a decent windstorm would blow it over!

I favor oxidized iron trellising to support my vines (mostly clematis) and these are fabricated locally and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They do need to be anchored well however.

We did ours by bending sheep fencing in an arch and using 4ft metal stakes. When the passionfruit was loaded on the vine it drooped quite a bit. We are currently trying to reinforce it with a wood or metal trellis so I’ll let you know what we end up doing.
