It's very obvious that a cabinet seller came up with that. Its too large to function well, and contains too much cabinetry. Cut the size in half and start over. And get some contractor I put on the front end about costs to do this. It isn't a budget project, even if you cut things in half.

Designer is poor and making some serious mistakes here. Among them the island countertop is larger than a single slab and crown moldings must be stacked with a riser to adjust the for ceiling being out of level. It also looks better with a bigger molding profile with such tall cabinets. Other issues here as well.

Refrigerator behind island and in front of dishwasher is also a blunder. Hood wider than range looks and works better. Many lesser issues. I’d work with a more experienced kitchen designer.

I would switch the wall oven and pantry.

I think better to leave pantry and put refrigerator right of pantry then put ovens were refrigerator was. Or put the ovens right of the refrigerator so all cabinetry is together.. Better to have refrigerator NOT behind Island and close to table. Also shifting cooktop closer to center behind Island is ideal. Having all the tall cabinetry together makes room much more open and the countertop more functional. The way it is now is very odd.

All the above comments are important. I am not a designer, but I am a cook and I’ve redone four homes. The narrow doors are ridiculous. If you need a place for trays and other thin platters, that’s not the way to do it.

Get another designer and post other layouts. Good luck!

If you want an island that seats 7 (?) you might consider omitting the table in the kitchen and incorporating it into the island, although that will require a second slab, as was mentioned in another post.

In that layout (left), I'd leave the DW to the left of the island sink, to keep it out of the primary prep space, but then dishes will need to be stored across the aisle, for proximity. I like the idea of putting the ovens on the end, and you could the use a shallow side-loading pantry to the right of the fridge, eliminating the need for ROTS.

Are you on a slab? How far from the floor is the window ledge on the left wall? If possible, I'd slide the appliance wall down, then have a separate clean-up zone under the windows (plan on right). That would provide extra counter and prep space, and a convenient place to store dishes near the DR entry.

We aren’t on a slab, we have a full basement.

Unfortunately the wall to the left is the basement stairs and a small pantry so I wouldn’t be able to use it for any cabinets etc.

we are planning on keeping the island to 4/5 seats, and none on the side of the island to accommodate the table area. I do like the idea of the ovens being moved down though.
