Hi! That front space of 7*20 what is that used for? I would be inclined to put it there maybe a small 3 by 5 with toilet and sink opposite. In my experience a space like that on a 4-square might be a converted porch which might be problematic to such an endeavor.

I wouldn't want a powder room between the dining room and kitchen.

I agree with Mid American Mom. If the front porch is an enclosed space, I'd place the powder room on the left side, and move the doorway to the right.

I have the worlds smallest powder room on 1st floor, yep on some, their knees hit the door when they sit down - however, it works! - it is by back door, mud area - OFF the kitchen in a narrow back door hallway

I like Sativa McGee Designs suggestion. I would just move the powder room away from the eating area and putt extra isolation in the wall to reduce noise:

The arrangement above really reduces the size of the living room. I wouldn't go that route.

The most important thing (beyond being able to sit down in the powder room) is sound insulation for a powder room in an entertainment area (or frankly, anywhere). Insulate the walls with batting for sound abatement and use a solid core door. If the sound of what is going on IN the powder room is heard outside the powder room, everyone is involved.

Thanks all! We’ve also thought about something parallel to the stairs and breaking into the kitchen area on the other side slightly but that would also make the living area smaller.
