No to the pattern curtains, and dark brown leather feels not very "Scandinavian" To me. a plain linen that blend with the rug back ground.

Thank you, completrly agree. I'm on a budget and can't replace the dark sofas right now. I was thinking if I did a lot of neutrals (natural wood/beige etc. ) it would create some similarities to Scandinavian decor, which is my ultimate goal. The black flooring doesn't help either

Don't worry about your black flooring: you have your light rug. Google images of Scandinavian decor with dark floors and you'll get inspiration pictures.

Corner Fireplace Help!!!
Hello everyone, I need to decorate my fireplace and/or the wall behind it. My floor is black and my decor style is geared towards minimalist/Scandinavian.The fire place is located in the livingroom. I greatly appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks!

it looks odd almost as if its missing the chimney (which would also provide visual height)

i would do a series of corner shelves leading up to the top of the door frame and place just a few well curated pieces- maybe a few frames w mirrors to create light and depth. Dont junk it up be thoughtful re sizing - two maybe three shelves max

Do you use it? Can we get a larger picture of the room to get a sense of its scale in the room?
