painted master bedroom now what?!v

My curtains I think need adjusting. When we moved i I just put the curtain rod where the previous owner had hers placed. Now I think it should be to the ceiling. Just don’t want to make a bunch of holes and then have to repaint that area. Hate the blinds but don’t know what else to use. We like our room dark at night.

I love the room color. Pulled from photo on wall.

Then I’m gonna have to deal with this headboard for a while. My husband built it. I need to replace our side tables but don’t know if I should go, white, cream or stay in wood tones? Gold or silver? I have no issue mixing colors or elements just need better direction.

Change color of curtains as well? They are just a darker version of our wall color.

HELP!!!!!!!!!

All opinions welcome.

Thanks!

That pairing sounds lush to me, J C. Something I see in European decor magazines. (Photo below of the tone on tone.) You're thinking just a shade darker than your wall for the small dresser? Not sure how they'll pair with the headboard. Btw, if you need storage, the Rast chest is pretty tiny. I strongly recommend you check it out in store before getting married to the idea.

If it is the same green/teal or one shade darker of same color it could work but very fine line...with your headboard ..but would not mix a dark navy blue or other blue...I think it will start looking like a college students room or teenager..Be very careful..this is your master bedroom let’s get it right...very cool idea with the brass legs and handles...be careful if it is tall and slender and lightweight wood....it may tip easier if you have young children.

Tartenmeup...love that bedroom so very European with a touch of bohemian...lovebthe headboard!

Okay I am going to stay with a soft white of some sort for the dresser. My thinking has been lighten up the room so why darken up with darker paint? Duh.

I’m not a professional but your side lamps look too small. :)

Okay everyone. This is the idea of what I’m going to do for color/metal on the bedside tables. My husband likes the FIRST PIC combo....gold feet and lamp with black handles. Please don’t judge harshly on my editing. Color of room and headboard are off. I kinda agree with him. Any other combos I’m not thinking of?

may I ask why black handles?

To be honest, I don’t want to get too much gold in here when I like to mix metals. I know it doesn’t make sense to mix two on furniture. I could do white legs and what ever for handles. I’m making myself a little crazy on this. Trying to keep hubs opinion in mind but I get to make final decision (he’s working with me on landscape decisions and making it more what I want soooo ♀️). Please once again, all opinions. No hurt feelings here.

Love your headboard and paint color! Beautiful. I like the white and wood chest with the black legs and pulls HIWE posted earlier if you could find the right size.

Why not black legs and black pulls...you can still add a gold lamp into your space..just be sure to add black frames to your wall art or add a pillow with some black in in....Try to think of sets of three....

    three gold items

    three black items

etc......It helps blend and balance a space.

I’ve seen those white lamps and them saved as well. Someone once mentioned wall/sconce lighting on each side. Do I still need to consider that? The new dressers on each side will be mattress height, possibly taller. I’ve seen Table and wall lights that would work and now wondering which is most functional and pretty.

Wall lights give a modern...somewhat mid century hip touch to a space...I like the idea for your bedroom with the low headboard.

What do you think of this....what do you mean by...YOU WANT IT TO BE PRETTY? Glam added ...tell me what you see as pretty..it will help a lot

We are going to raise headboard
About a foot. I am always drawn to the creamy white rooms with all the variations of white. Then they have mercury glass, gold other silver somewhere. However, as much as I want to be that person I still love color and like a random
Bohemian look with the mid century mod all mixed up. I’m eclectic which I think sometimes is a nice way of saying I don’t have. Or know my style. I want natural textures with shiny bling but without it looking like it’s all matchy-matchy. I want nature, water feel in here but worry that if I put too much shine in here it will conflict with rough look of headboard. Don’t want it to not flow. I’ll try to find an example pic.

Gold and black combo wall lights! Yes

did you like the eclectic bedroom image I posted with the deep Peacock blue wall And white surrounding walls? Gorgeous

Yes! I love the drama of that peacock blue in that room. I have a similar color in my living room in niches. I’m going to mix black in our room with decorations, like you said before. I’ve always followed the three setting but lost it for this space in my mind. Thank you for shaking me.

Update! So I did wind up purchasing the small Rast(?) as bedside tables. I bought legs and have assembled the dressers. We added wood to bottom for legs. Pic I am including does include any painting and additional substitutes I have planned. Walls same green, headboard raised a foot and have purchased wall lamps in black. To keep it simple I will add black pulls (appliance style or something like that). Then I will add gold decoration around room. OR I can still do gold legs and handles. Dressers will be painted some variety of soft white.

Now I am looking for a rug or rugs to add to the room. I have 2 different looks, modern and then a classic kinda look but beautiful colors. I will include pics of those as well.

I have seen a coverlet set online I like as well. I will include pic as well.
I’ll be adding a better pic on wall lamp and coverlet next.
I love the headboard, very organic modern feel to it.
Okay here is the wall lamp and coverlet.

Okay everyone that still MIGHT be following this please offer yes or no’s. Or other suggestions. Thank you everyone. JC

like rug2 & cover, not sure about the lamp.. anything else you like for lamps?

    I like the cover!
Cheryl, the 2nd rug meaning blue/green/cream? Just want to make sure. I really love that rug justifying to figure out what size rug to go with. Runner like, one for each side of the bed? Or just a big one under the bed coming out at end area. Lamps.....I can always return the black wall lamp. I do the like the idea of a wall lamp to give us further space on the table to use.
    *just trying*, not justifying.
yes the blue cream + rug
rug/bed area... I would do the area under the bed myself.

I glanced up and see wood and a subtle pattern on bed... so the intricate lamps are good, it seems.

A simpler lamp wouldn't be bad, especially if you plan on 2. Then a striking pillow or throw could 'do it'.

If you want just texture for bedding, that might be better even.. instead of... well what is the flooring: is it wood with grain etc.?

I like this, though medium and not light as you posted.... but what about a light pillow to 'show' on top?

Cause it's called romantic -- I see the beige with the beautifully rounded lamp posted earlier. Or a prettier one, if you like romantic.... is this sheen like art's water... and 'wet stones'
