What you‘ve pictured looks like a 30” hood over a 30” range. Wood surround hoods or chimney hoods - both do not benefit from being 30” wide. They need more width, minimum 36”, in order not to look forced and odd.

I think the greatest considerations are 1. Do you need the additional cabinet storage the wood mantle cabinet can provide.

2. What height are your ceilings

3. Do your cabinets go all the way to the ceiling? If not can you double stack them so they can?

i think the chimney style hoods look good when you have high ceilings (10’) and your surrounding cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. the cabinets to the ceiling are important because it looks nice when you can run your backsplash all the way up to the ceiling behind the chimney hood imo. I think if you have lower ceilings and your Cabinets Don’t go to the ceiling then the mantle style looks better.

Then my official vote would be mantle style for purely aesthetic reasons based on the details you just have ;-)
