Nice! If there is space, move the mirror (or get a smaller) to the left of the door as you enter, with a small table underneath. Put a large piece of art where the current mirror is and add a simple bench underneath. Can you give dimensions of the entrance? I'd cover much of the floor with a rug.

From the front door to the mirror it's 8' and from the closet to the staircase it's 8 1/2'. I was thinking a 5' x 8' or 4' x 6'? Need help with light or dark, solid or pattern? The mirror is 72" long and quite heavy. Would not fit on wall by front door. Here's a photo of the mirror from Currey & Co. Thank you so much for your help!

Tie the colors and textures into the next room schematic - presumably the living room. The entrance should have the eye travelling in a circle as far as frontal placements.This room can be different from the rest of the house as long as you carry some of the colors room-room to give visual flow. The door could be painted same as the wall if you want it to disappear. Trim could also be painted the wall color to open the space to make it seem larger. Grey can seem like a prison after awhile, so large splash of contemporary art over a great console table that is light/narrow scale would be preferable to a heavy mirror, as this is a perfect place to have some pass-through color or white accent drama. Pick an eye-catching pattern in the rug that will hide traffic pattern and be cleaned easily.
