Yes, switch them so the cabinet doesn't block the art. Switch and take a pic so we can see what else you might do.

Don’t clutter up with other stuff. Cabinet and art art so nice! Is this only entrance? Put baskets for shoes in a different location if possible.

HI -- Lets do a little cabinet remodel ( if you can ) .... take the metal base off . Put a top on that metal base in wood or glass or marble and put a mirror above it . Or maybe now as a table , it could fit under that big Art ? I love the Art . You can switch the Art and this new remodeled hall table if it looks better that way . Now for the cabinet ... put some new short small legs under or casters whatever you find and then will it sit under the other Art on that back wall in the hall ?

There are shoe storage solutions that can be built into the space under the stairs.

Put the shoes in the drawers of the cabinet.

You have no entrance from a garage? NO shoes belong in the front foyer for any length of time. Actually? I am sick of the shoe thing at any entrance. Every single one ends with a hundred pair. Return them to the bedroom - the same way you do clothing. : )

Seems you need a bench and shoe storage at your door. Replace current one with something like one of these? I like the modern metal one - put baskets under it for the shoes. People will be more apt to place shoes in baskets than take the time to open cabinets with doors. It's a universal fact: socks go missing and shoes at the door multiply :)

I love the idea of the shoes rack under stairs but unfortunately I have a full storage built there.
For the cabinet i just bought it at $2500 so not ready to destroy it :(
I like the bench + basket idea, will look for one that I can place there / for now I have removed the shoe rack to remove the clutter till it’s replaced.

I would not put that piece in your entry. It is too much with the art. Are you saying you speak $2,500 on that piece and didn’t know where you would put it? It is a great bar cabinet but find a better place for it or return it. I am just being honest and I don’t mean to offend. The art is interesting but a bit too much facing entry. I actually prefer it where you originally had it. Then add a nice medium height fig leaf plant. Keep the art the main thing. Then along the entry wall you can out something for shoes if absolutely needed.

Is this a condo with no garage? This appears the formal entry. Is there..............no "mud" entrance from the garage?

I see no purpose to the bar cabinet, other than one. Agree with Flo. Relocate.

As to shoes: In the very BEST of mud areas I have designed, those with "cubbies", with baskets for shoes, with hooks, with pegs....................$##@@&&^% with shelves, open containers, closed containers and you go right ahead and name it.

Nice on a photo op. In real life? As crapped up as the bad entries they replaced, and as disappointing in reality versus the VISION/FANTASY of new builds. The cost of shoes, relative to income is far too low. The result ? Each family member owns ninety pair minimum, before you get to the flip flop category.. They ALL end up in an entry. There is no storage that will suffice! It is kick off, and there they remain. Add the tote bags, the Amazon waiting to go to UPS..... the back packs that never find the hook, and yes......even the coats that can't find a simple hook.

I am sick to death of it. lol.
