I wouldnt put anything there. IF you desire a basket with a blanket, put it on the side of the new better looking chair that isnt the pick one. I agree remove the ladder. It does no justice.

The problem with a large piece of art on that side is that the light switch crowds it. But maybe a smaller piece of art work would work?

You'd want to balance out the spaces on each side of the TV Go with complimentry artwork the same size. Also the chairs dont have to be the same but if they are the same scale they will work together. So the pink is prob the better choice because of its size. Try and find another chair about the same width and height of that one if you can't match it.
You could still use the ladder in your space...you could hang a couple of nice blankets on it.
Then use the smaller chair in another room.

I like the idea of a shelving unit where your ladder is but I'd want it closer in height to the artwork for some symmetry. Would that be feasible? Love your pink chair! Your artwork is lovely as well. Drawing? Pretty room!

Try bring your artwork in a little bit closer to the TV. I think you be okay.

Another pink chair is being added on Wednesday. I'll wait until that arrives and figure out placement and then work on the other details before I do much more to the space. Thanks for all the tips!

I agree that that ladder thing isn’t doing the space any favours. Especially given that there are just little things on it. A larger, more impactful piece of furniture/artwork would be better.

Nice room, but I don’t care for the ladder shelf. The brass piece looks better. I would like to see the art lowered, maybe about 6”. Since it’s in an area where you’re generally sitting to look at tv, I feel it could stand to be a bit lower than the usual height art is hung. I also wouldn’t place items on tv console, too cluttered. If you go with a shelving unit display larger items.

Shelf should be same color as picture frame if you put it there. But having said that, I would get matching pictures. Pink chairs are nice. Get a big pink candle and vase to complement.

I’d move the current pink chair to the opposite side from where it is now. You don’t need direct line of site to an entrance so the chair would stop that which would creat more of a living room and would also balance the big picture on the right.

I was admiring the effect of your pink chair in that room on passing by. Two should be even nicer. :)

Fwiw, if I were you, I'd move that nuisancy light switch to the other side of its wall, in the hall instead of on an important wall in the living area. Small, quick job.

When we built this house, I insisted that a little bank of light switches not be cluttering up the limited wall space in our foyer but instead be just an arm's reach around a corner in a little hall close to the front door. Took some arguing with my husband and son, who were doing the work, but works beautifully. The hand knows where the switches are and which is which.

Matching pictures might be difficult as that's a one of a kind canvas we purchased at an art gallery in Paris and had framed.

I'll post again when I get the other chair as that might make a difference of where to place the things.

Light switches area nuisance sometimes! Not sure if it can be moved as the other side of the wall has very limited space.
