Design/decorating help

We are remodeling the kitchen adjoining this room with white cabinets, navy blue island, quartz counters with white and gray, medium brown wood floor. The colors in the rest of the house have been more warm tones: greens, gold, deep red/rust so this will be much cooler. Need help with this family room. Leather sectional will stay but everything else will go. Want to incorporate more blues/grays if possible. Should the brick wall be painted?

Also, I want to complete the wall above the "bar" area and put the TV along that wall. I like the idea of chests with mirrors above on either side of the fireplace but might be too crowded.

I would definitely paint brick in white. Room is dark. Get a wall art above the mantle.

I agree the brick would look so nice painted.

Thanks! I have gone back and forth on the brick since it's not really horrible, but it is dated and dark. Would you keep the rug the same direction or change it? Any thoughts about adding the wall? Most people want to take out walls these days, but it seems like it could finish the space and be more functional if there was a wall there. I'd like to get rid of the bar entirely and maybe put an upper cabinet behind the new wall with a counter underneath as a sort of desk area.

Yes, we would paint the brick wall if you want to incorporate grey, white, and blue.

Beautiful photos! Very elegant and serene. Would you say the sofa and the TV stand are the dark elements and everything else should be lighter?
