Agree with Sabrina,you could do most anything. What were the two rugs that didn't make the cut and why?

Thank you all so much! I love that you can drop in rugs! Sabrina, I love the idea of a blue rug as I have blue chairs in the neighboring dining room. Could you share where the rug was from, or manufacturer?

Hollybar, I tried a jute rug (I liked the casual look but too much brown) and also a jute/wool mix that ended up being striped and I didn't like it.

@drsherre, the rug is from Feizy. Not sure if they sell directly to the public, but if not I imagine you could find out what retailers carry their lines.

I like tailored designs, but it's personal preference.

If you look at the photoshop that Ilikefriday did, you’ll notice that punch of color made you smile....you can find something wonderful on Wayfair that isn’t too expensive. My personal preference is an overall pattern subtle colors oriental, but I am a oriental rug junkie. I would go larger than shown also....don’t you have a chair on the other side of that seating area? The rug should be large enough to have at least the front feet of all the furniture pieces on the rug by at least 6 inches.

I am with ilikefriday on that vibrant & colorful rug. There is absolutely no color in that room & with a rug like that you can anywhere with art work, side chairs & pillows.

Love the pink pillow on your couch..I suggest a rug like this one.

The muted/neutral colors match my style well and it seems like this would be a good choice to mix the gold and wood, but still be casual as well. Thank you! It's out of stock right now, but I'll be keeping an eye on it.

BeverlyFLADeziner, I also like tailored designs/straight lines. I love the rugs you showed. Do you think they would work with the gold side tables? They too have a geometric design, so I wasn't sure when looking at geometric rugs. Thank you for your suggestions!
