For the dining room I think these would look rustic, yet simple and pretty. You can buy them, but they are also easy and cheaper to make and install if you are good with electricity and that kind of stuff. You can find them at some antique stores or stores that salvage stuff from old buildings or farmhouses. They are just sold as baskets and then you wire them to make it into a light. Some shops sell them put together already because they know that most buyers are going to make lamps out of them( but only if your lucky). Here are some pictures

I'm old fashioned. I like the look of fancy above the dining room table. I insist on cloth napkins, too. Every meal should be a pleasure of all the senses, imo. Nothing like a pretty chandelier. But that's just me. :)

I LOVE These ideas... I was thinking along the same lines.. so I'm glad I was going in the right direction ... I really love the idea of a chandelier, but I haven't found the perfect one.. :)
