Quick Floating Shelves....

quick little project, took some S4S pine 1 1/2" x 10" and made a couple floating shelves. I used 3/8" x 8" lag bolts to mount the shelves super easy super fast. As you can see once I centered the 2 studs I pre-drilled holes for the lag bolts, once in place and all level I cut off head of bolts leaving 5 1/2" . I then drilled corresponding 3/8" holes in the pine approx. 5 1/2" deep. ( the biggest trick is to make sure everything is square, lag bolts and holes) Stained the pine with satin ebony and all is well. These won't be strong enough to hang off of but for a couple small plants and knick knacks it will be plenty strong enough
