I’ve bought about 50 or so roses from K&M, they are just about my favorite place to buy roses. The ones you listed are hobbyist breeders, often bred for those who like to exhibit at rose shows. Fortuniana rootstock should do great in 9B, but keep in mind if you’re In California, they are only permitted to ship 1 gal potted roses, which they have a more limited supply of varieties

Ben, I have never had a rose on Fort and would like to try it. Winter temps here can get down into the 40s, and some years we do have frost (not this one, though). We also get some very intense winds, Do you think Fort rootstock would work here?

Also, are hobbyist roses likely to have less disease resistance? Black spot isn’t a problem here, mildew can be.

I've been buying from K&M for years. All of Eddie Edwards roses are great growers and bloomers. Most of Fred's roses take forever to mature but when they do, they look good. John's best rose is Randy Scott. Grows well and blooms a lot. Tell me you color preferences' and I can let you know the best of the best that K&M sells.

I don’t think hardiness will be an issue for you at all. we get down to 15 degrees and I’ve not lost a fort grafted rose. You might need to give the young plant some barrier from the wind, K&M also recommends you stake it with a sturdy support (such as a rebar pole, as they are young plants with their grafts high off the ground. Once the plant establishes these are no longer concerns, and they do grow fast and develop big root systems
