I don't care for a toilet room. I would put the toilet on the sink wall and move the closet door overover. That way your not showering in a cave.

IMO toilet rooms are just plain silly and walking through a bathroom to get to the closet is very poor design and if that is a free standing tub you should make sure you can actually clean all around it , it does not appear to have enough space to do so.

And I know you didn’t ask about the rest of your plan but I’d recommend loosing the angled island in the kitchen. A simple rectangle would be my vote.

Lastly consider skylights in the covered patio areas. Your main living and dining space will be very dark during the day.

This is a good step towards better.

- I like that you have the option of going into the closet from the bathroom, but you can also enter without walking the length of the bathroom.

- Like two other posters, though, I'd get the toilet out of the closet. This one even has a clip out of the corner, so it'll be worse than average. Just set it off with a pony wall.

- The wet room concept for the shower /tub will work, but I wonder if a bit more space wouldn't be good. How will the window be waterproofed?

The toilet room can be squared off. I am in the camp of a toilet closet vs just a pony wall - better couple relations IMO for when both want to use the space. The OPs plan had a ton of wasted space and I just guessed at dimensions based on the posted closet size. Their architect should tweak whatever direction they choose knowing a wet room like this should be based on the tub selection (3’x6’shown) with a 3’ shower area. Tub could be smaller but I wouldn’t make the vanities any smaller.

What makes you think the bathroom layout is not good? What makes you think the bathroom layout can be improved?

Here is a great conceptual solution to a gas chamber:

This way you do not have imagine you are in solitary confinement and your spouse does not have to see you naked or know you are human.
