To start though, trim back the bushes and trees, get rid of any dead or dying plants, and paint the door a fun color so it stands out.

Ditto on what previous posters have said. I would also refresh your landscaping to add color. There are other bushes you can use that have color vs everything being green. I would remove completely the tree by the French doors. I also recommend staining the old pebble concrete a med. toned gray and pressure wash your roof. Also remove the flower pots and chair.

Painting the front door a color will tell a first-time visitor which door is the front door. You could buy a couple of large outdoor ceramic pots to match or coordinate with the front door color and plant them with flowers or some greenery and place them flanking the bottom step to the front door. Patio furniture should look comfortable and should accommodate three or more people in an easy conversational arrangement.

Power wash the house and hardscape before painting. Unless it’s in sad shape, it may not be necessary. I like the idea of painting the front door and adding coordinating potted plants with color. The shrub/tree by the french doors should be thinned, I’m not convinced it should be removed. Seating, give that hardscape a purpose.

You have one chair. I’d add a seating arrangement that makes it clear that this is an inviting, comfortable place to relax. You can borrow outdoor furniture from friends.

HI -- Paint the front door and handrails a satin black --- tidy the landscaping- but mostly make a front courtyard with some walls or fencing -- then maybe add a fountain and more plants in pots etc. Don't forget to have some lighting and even a sculpture ... something of interest . Also have some seating .

I suggest doing away with the front patio and plant grass. I don't care for a patio in the front yard at all. The house needs some color.

Also remove some of the concrete sidewalk and power wash what remains. Some of those pots can be moved close to the house.
