Broccoli with afternoon shade

Would broccoli do ok with about ~4-5 hours of full sun with bright afternoon shade? One corner of my vegetable plot is within shading distance of a mulberry tree my spousal unit won’t let me remove. It gets sun from 8:30 - 1pm or so in spring and summer, then shade, but not deep shade, after that.

One hand, I feel like afternoon shade would help deal with heat some, but OTOH I want to make sure they still get enough sun to grow and produce properly.

Since chilly spring often turns to summer heat quickly in my area, I am leaning towards yes, it will be fine.

Any input?
