I believe broccoli is one of the few vegetables that does OK in part-shade. Productivity will likely be somewhat lower than in full sun, though.

I've not had experience myself, but I've seen many people growing broccoli in part shade locally. Heat isn't normally an issue until later in June here, but if it a year like last year, with 90+ degree temperatures in late May, I think part shade would be beneficial...

Chris, another member of the forums, from New York, has grown his broccoli in part shade before, if I remember correctly. Maybe he could chime if he sees this thread.

I'm in a new gardening situation after many years of having a full sun garden, we had our one box re-done after finding the previous owners made the raised bed look like a garden bed, but actually filled it with construction rubble!

I excitedly planted all sorts of winter stuff, lettuces, kale, chard, romanesco broc, purple cauliflower, radishes. Everything grew fine, but I realized we weren't getting any winter sun on the bed! Boo! I was hoping when the sun started hitting the bed again, we might get some action.

I was really surprised to go out the other day to find several cauliflowers, some broc ((yet small) and radishes! The chard, kale and lettuce, of course were doing fine!

So, I'm guessing you might be OK, but I'm in CA where we don't get a lot of freezing temps (except this week!)
