We're ripping out grass in our front yard to do a border of perennial, native plants about a foot and a half wide along either side of the sidewalk. If we add back in more soil and do plastic edging between the grass and the soil bed, will that be enough to keep the grass from growing back at an unmanageable rate? Or is it completely necessary to put down some sort of liner under the soil? Thank you for reading!
