Jefferson Plum......Self Fertile???

I recently purchased a Jefferson plum tree. The nursery I bought it from says it is self fertile but a couple of other places I looked on the internet says it needs a pollinizer. If anyone knows I would appreciate an answer. If it needs a pollination partner, what variety would work?
