Hmmm it would be entertaining and fun to see Meatloaf live!

Paula I wish you would update us on how yours are doing. I recall trees being cut at the back of your property?

Yes, my wish list is huge. Saija started us off with Adorable and the list grew from there, and grew and grew.......

Mostly I would like to get my new area prepped for all the ones I have been holding over. Some of them are classic beauties like Pizzaz & Frosted Dimples..... but if all else fails I know I can find a spot squeeze in Hands Up lol !

I have a ton on my wish list but I’m trying to hold off until I see how my babies from last year did. There were quite a few I ripped into multiples right from the get-go so I need to see what type is really thriving and what I’m lacking.

Saija..looking forward to pics of those finished new beds :-)

of course I would love to have EVERY hosta that everyone here owns that I don't but that's unrealistic!..here are a few that I would love to buy..Marilyn Monroe..Dancing Queen..Touch of Class..Luna Moth..Neptune and Waterslide are similar so whatever's cheaper haha..Cracker Crumbs..I'm aware of these beauties thanks to the alphabet..

Well, I have a wish list #1 and a wish list #2. Now, after the alphabet, and some other research, I have made a wish list #3. I will incorporate wish list #3 into the wish list #1 and #2. Wish list #1 are definite wants. Wish list #2 are desirables, but I may not be sure for one reason or another. Both wish list #1 and #2 are way too long to list and I can't buy them all! Hope you were able to follow that! LOL

Saija, two new beds! Wonderful! I'm envious! If I had those two beds, I could buy all of the hostas listed in wish list #1 and some from wish list #2!

My husband has always wanted to go to Nova Scotia. Maybe I should tag along and go to mikgag's for a hosta shopping spree!

mikgag..selling 100!!..maybe you mentioned why but I missed it..duplicates?..too crowded?..redesigning?..I understand just wondered..

newhostalady..would love to meet you at mikgag's! Lol..

Hmm, the wife and I are thinking about a trip to PEI soon, sounds like we could descend on mikgag's and meet you all there too!

These are no longer on my wish list due to the alphabet:

    Ann Kulpa

    Cutting Edge

    Hands Up

    Hudson Bay

    Lakeside Prophecy Fulfilled

    Leapin Lizard

    Maya Swingtime

    Miss Tokyo

    Ooh La La

    Paisley Border

    Peppermint Ice

    Restless Sea

    Tropical Dancer

    Valley's Ruffle Shuffle

I went ahead and ordered them.

The wishlist is closed for 2019. I already ordered around 40 new plants, mostly for my collections, Valley's (of course), Chiemsee, Frisian and Oberland. Like mikgag I will try to sell 40 plants, some that are too similar to others or older ones which can be divided.

    Very nice list, Steve!

You had me worried Steve. I read "These are no longer on my wish list due to the alphabet" and wondered what you had seen or read to remove them from your wish list! Ahh, but I see they have been ordered! That's a wonderful order!

So it's nicholsworth, Steve and I to mikgag's. That would be about 33 plants each. I could handle that! LOL

I think i will take a road trip to Mikgag's this summer. Since we are neighbor's . We go to Charlottetown PEI in April for Burger love.

I’m waiting to see how my gardens looks this spring. If I have room I’m going for Zebra Stripes. Four dogs and a suburban lot limit what I can do, darn it! No... I’m not getting rid of my dogs ; )

It all started with the alphabet...which led to a wish list...which led to 29 hostas ordered! I could order so many more. My order includes Stag's Leap, The King, The Queen, Ivory Coast, Brother Stefan and solids/subtly variegated to surround them. Looking forward to planting season. Happiness is a new hosta bed :)

Karin, what are you going to sell? I might be interested.

Saija that is beyond exciting having your new areas ready for planting!

newhostalady I totally understood your wish lists and can relate!

Sherry I really hope you can squeeze in Zebra Stripes. I would choose my dog(s) over expanded beds too lol!

I have wishlists from 2017, 2018, and now this year. Some of the names have been crossed off - either because I bought them or because they received unfavorable mention on the forum. So it's a process....

I'm trying not to buy very many this year because I have so many in pots waiting to be planted. So far I've ordered six:

    Country Sun Drop

    Korean Snow

    Midnight Oil

    Purple Verticulated Elf

    Risky Business

    Tea & Crumpets

I added Risky Business to the order after seeing so many beautiful ones in the alphabet this year. I'm still planning to place another order or two. Others I'd definitely like are:

    Faith

    Queen of the Seas

    Rascal

    Sharp Dressed Man

    Kaleidochrome

    Spilt Milk

Some I saw in this alphabet, some have been on the list(s) for quite some time.

Wishful thinking: that I could find space for Komodo Dragon, Beckoning, and a few other large ones.... we'll see about that over time.

FYI.....I had 490 different varieties, then I suffered a back injury. I'm not fully "retiring" from hostas, but I need to downsize to be managable. I sold approx 150 of them last year. Anyone on here that has 450+ hostas in manicured/mulched beds knows exactly why I can't keep doing it with a bad back. Anyone driving through the Annapolis Valley in NS is more than welcome to pop by and have a visit

mikgag..makes perfect sense..too much of anything becomes a burden..there's so many beautiful hosta..it's a battle to say no..I hope you can redesign your garden so that's it's manageable for you..(I wish that for everyone here - including me!)

    cicely,

I have a list of candidates, but it depends how they show up in spring. Send me a pn and I can contact you in a few weeks.

My wish list keeps growing every year and has reached unmanageable size. I need to build a new bed but until then I have two "must" gets this year, Queen and Liberty. I hope to an X and Z someday to fill out the alphabet.
I like a theme based bed and when and if I ever get to it, I want it to be a spiritual kind of thing. Names like Amazing Grace, Heavenly Beginnings, Faith, etc.

I placed my order first day Naylor announced 2019 catalog...

But really I got far more pressing issues to figure out, how to keep hosta potted? Which pots did survive our Polar Vortex of minus 26? Did my minies made it?

Besides looking at alphabet pics, I signed up for this year nationals at Green Bay. I hear there are some fine gardens and large collection of hosta at Botanical gardens to view... Am sure will be looking how to cram few more into my space...
