When we did our windows I did grids and I kinda regret them. They look cute on my house and do give it a bit of detail, but I wish I hadn't. Or maybe have only did grids on the top windows. Mine are between the glass so I'm stuck forever. I'm no help, lol.

Depends on the house style, but most homes do not look good with grids. I say no grids.

I vote NO grids. I didn't pay too much attention to them in our new house when we were looking at it. I thought we could remove them but they were between the glass so I couldn't. They are only on the front of the house but I would have liked it better without them. Personal choice I guess.

Imperative that windows/mullions jive with the architectural look of a building.

What did the house have originally? I'd go with that. Many vintage homes have divided light windows and to my eye look look silly when replaced with large, plain expanses of glass. More contemporary homes benefit from simplicity. Let the house tell you what's right.

+1 to the comments regarding the architecture of the home. Some look bad with grids, some look bad without. A pic of the home would be very helpful.

We need to see the exterior of your house. Windows are an integral part of the overall design.

Any advice you receive, without a photo or description of the style of the house, is worthless.

IMO it does not matter the style of house I dislike grids in windows they intefere with window coverings, view and serve no purpose .

Hi Amanda, I like the idea of grids on top. Just personal opinion but I'm not a fan of the prairie style.

I don't like grids because they interfere with the view. Just personal preference. But I have grids on the front of our house because they were there when we bought it and are between the panes so I have to live with it. But they are only on the front of the house not on the windows I look out most.

I put in grids on top, on the front windows. I left the dining room window grid-less because the back deck door from there is also gridless, and I really think for me this works the best. View and all.
