Curtain Recommendations needed

I would like to add curtains to this room, to help keep the heat out in the summer and add warmth to the room in the winter. We live in the BigHorn Basin of Wyoming with a typical temp range of 105F to -5F. The house style is Transitional with trends toward Spanish colonial and I love the warmth of traditional. The paint colors are Camel on the window wall and an ivory/beige on the adjacent wall (not shown). Accent colors are rust, grey, and hues of blue. I don't want to cover the top windows because they vent out the hot air in the summer. The curtains, when not in use (75% of the time) would be stowed in the corners (behind the ladder and next to the door). The windows face NE towards a beautiful mountain view, and are (4) fixed, and (2) doors, all approximately 36" wide. The Traversing drapery rod is mounted (just under the ladder rail) with sliding clips at 95/96". I would like the curtains to have some thermal quality, but also light to be able to filter through. I have been thinking about using (6) 48-50"x96-100" panels in cotton or linen but not sure if solid or pattern, ivory/beige or camel/gold, or . . . .? Ideas please!
