Adding pantry shelving to laundry closet

I have a 6 foot wide laundry closet with very old appliances and some shelves on top that aren’t very useful. I’m considering replacing with a stacked washer dryer set so I can maybe get half the space to add some shelving for larger appliances/pots and pans. Has anyone done that and do you like it? I saw some photos online but the closets are larger than what I have.

I don’t have photos yet but the condo I’m buying has just that. Stacked washer and dryer and shelves to the right. I plan on adding more so I can store my stock pot, blender, and mixer. Downsizing to a smaller kitchen so I need all the extra storage I can get.

Do you need the storage space more than a full size washer and dryer? I ask because you will likely be going to a much smaller wash tub and dryer capacity going with stackables. If that's not an issue then I think it's a great idea. You will at least be able to utilize half the space more effectively.

You definitely can do that. Here are some examples. Some are showing laundry products, but no reason why you could not place small appliances in this area.

Thanks so much. Yes, these pictures are exactly what I was thinking about. And yes, I will need to get a smaller washer/dryer set but they will be more efficient than these old ones I have, I hope. We really need to storage more right now. Thanks again! I would love any more pictures if anyone else has done this.
