any problems with built in washer/dryers?

Are these washer/dryers compact size? I do not want want compact size but I do want a cabinet with countertop above my side by side (front load)w/d. Did the sink cabinet have to be raised so it would be level with the cabinet over the w/d? Have there been any regrets with the cabinet/countertop over the w/d?
