With a BS RNB (high BTUs), you might want to check if there are restrictions in your area to the minimum cfm before you choose. An inspector might have a different take on the hood that you must have.

What I disliked about the Ventahood models that I considered was the maximum height spec. from the cooking surface....too low for me. I hate feeling like something is infront of my head when I cook.

I bought an Imperial hoood which I felt was a reasonable price for an American made hood with the features I wanted. It also had a lower sound rating than many others I looked at. I like the variable speed setting and mounted it 5’10” from the floor (maximum height from the cooking surface was 36”)....high enough so no one in the family has the hood in front of their face.

Unfortunately for cost, hoods can't be effective for all cooking based on the average burner usage. I don't see the point of buying a Bluestar if the intended cooking can be achieved on a more modestly priced range.

Effective and quiet ventilation for the hottest intended cooking should be priced at the cost of the cooking device when planning begins and then refined as all the details of the ventilation exhaust system and the ventilation make-up air (MUA) system are clear.

The requirements for these are multiply described on many threads in this forum and should be one's guide in choosing hoods, ducts, blowers, MUA components (if required), etc.

We have a Zline. As I recall it was a pretty good price. Works for our needs over an induction cooktop. Grates are easy to clean in dishwasher. It is not quiet but I didn't think any hoods were that quiet.
