sitting area in bedroom

I’m interested in your suggestions for a sitting area. I want an electric fireplace with mantel but not sure how I should design the space. We do watch TV in bed so the TV would need to stay where it’s at. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Ps: Someday we will get rid of the ugly green carpet!
