We just bought this house. Main floor and upstairs woodwork is oak- 6 panel doors, hardwood floors. 1 room, 1/2 bath, the previous owner painted the floorboard and vanity cupboard white (not very well). Basement has a pine wood, different color from main levels. What do I do to make this all cohesive. A part of me wants to paint the woodwork (but I also have 2 rooms with oak built ins and a ceiling with oak beams. In the future, I want to stain or paint my kitchen cupboards. Can I have white and oak? Thanks
