I'm glad to hear you can get started soon. You know your new gardens this year, too, so it should be even more fun. My daughter is somewhat near you in the East Bay area and has told me about the rough weather, fires/smoke, etc. Good to hear things are looking good for you.

My daughter and DIL are also in the East Bay. It's usually quite a bit warmer there. They are both work-a-holics, so haven't got them into gardening.......yet!

My season, is underway for warm season crops. But i have had some cool crop all winter. Now i am growing lettuce, chards, carrots, kohlrabi, peas..

On the warm season stuff, i would find out when LFD is then take it from there , checking long term forecast. So you might be able to get it started few days sooner, or may have to wait few days longer, depending on the forecast. For me, our LFD is around April 5. But as i look at the 15 days forecast, i might jump in a week sooner. I am talking about tomatoes now. When the night lows stay above 40F, that is a safe bet.

Our LFD in the area is around April 15th, but we haven't seen much frost in our 3 winters here (we are in the middle of town now, surrounded by streets and sidewalks!)

We're having a lovely spring weekend, but are due for another "atmospheric river" at the end of the week! Holy Cow!

I might hit up the nursery on Monday and plant as soon as the rain stops next week. Nancy

Went out in the rain (beat the crowds!) and got 3 tomatoes, 3 peppers, 1 eggplant, 1 zuk and some bunching onions. Basil yet to come.

I'll be planting as soon as the next (hopefully last) atmospheric river passes us up tomorrow and Friday!

All planted! Spaced out the planting over a couple of days to save the back! I find that a bulb planter makes the perfect hole for a 4" start, then I use a long handled trowel to fill in the rest.

Hmmmm! Hubby relocated the small green house which freed up another possibly 4x8' area! Not sure what else to plant!
