Right now the tile entry and iron light say Spanish revival, but the wall detail are more English detail and the door is French style. For the Scandinavian style door knobs ththey could be black with a black plate and like a slim pipe style.

I would replace the light fixture first with a pendant

Hmm. Scandinavian/rustic doesn’t quite work with the bones you have. If you’re committed to that style, I think the mill work has to go, along with a new door and new lighting. Then you can incorporate the natural wood tones and rustic touches of the styles you like.

The main thing is the doors, I could see if you gloss them up it could offer you some Swedish charm (not sire how close that is), but also be more modern looking since they are white, but them paired with the wall siding and large trim scream all American mc mansion, they need to be a more rustic soft wood. It would make a big difference.

Hello! I’m submitting some inspiration pics to show you the shades of soft wood which would look great in your home! It’s a hard choice choosing between the table and the bench, I think a wooden bench would add more to the effect of rustic and help take the whole place away from the so formal structure it has, but then your entry does have that great art lighting fixture to highlight a piece really nice above a table. With a high gloss paint white on the doors, it could offer your home that nice shine look we all strive for, if your keeping them white. You have the setup for a nice piece of art with the light but I think a small gallery wall would look better, black frame, matted, black and white photo.

Pendant light is needed for the entry, that one looks far too chandelier for a table.

Thank you Me Ora. Do you think its important to have a place to sit down and put on your shoes? If we went with with the table would you put a chair beside to leave this option open? If you went with a bench would you put a gallery wall above? or how would you style it?
