This is the Britannica and Queen Ann

Thanks. I actually was thinking the two countertops together would be too much, especially with the backsplash I like. I just needed to convince my husband and hopefully Sina's comment did that! I think we're going to go with Caesarstone's Pebble for the perimeter countertop to go with the Britannica. Or does anyone have any other suggestions for a plain grey to go with it?

I LOVE the mosiac backsplash you've shown with the grey counter that has just a little white movement. You don't want "boring" subway tile or solid color counters.

What did you decide? I am thinking about Queen Anne for my bathroom countertops. Would love to see your finished product!

I'm still waiting on the cabinets to be installed, so I have time. I realized it was Clareann that I was looking at in a showroom, not Queenann. They are the same color but Clareann doesn't have as much detail. I'm still planning to use the combo of the two countertops. I now love this larger herringbone backsplash. I'm sure a lot of people would still say it's too busy!

I feel bad saying this bc I know it’s not what you probably want to hear, but either of those backsplashes is really a lot in a kitchen with Britannica. Britannica is such a dramatic look that it really needs quieter surroundings, or the whole room ends up looking too busy. Also, a marble backsplash with a quartz countertop can really backfire. The marble (real stone) ends up making the quartz (engineered) look plasticky. Then again, it’s your home and you are the one who needs to be happy in it. Suggestion: search Houzz pictures for “Britannica kitchen island” and observe the surroundings in the pictures, then see which ones have an overall effect you love. I suspect there will be very few with a dramatic backsplash, but hopefully you’ll find some so you can see whether you like them.

Something like a herringbone in white with white grout may give you still a non boring backsplash with pattern that isnt so overwhelming.

Here is a pic of what DrB suggested. Both the island and perimeter are Britannica but the white subway tile with white grout in a herringbone pattern adds interest but doesn’t read too busy. Good luck!

Two different counter materials usually look best with one patterned and one solid which matches a color in the patterned material. Even if the colors match, two different patterns may clash with each other.

Here’s my backsplash with Brittanica. It’s a gray glossy tile with white grout and a wavy white tile behind the stove. In hindsight I’d just do the gray tile all over. The kitchen is not finished bc we had a raised bar torn down and the painters are arriving on the 15th.

I went with my gut and love our kitchen! What's busy to others is perfect for me.

The blue island isn't really that blue. More of a greyish blue.

I love it! Good choices! I would have done a blue cabinet on the island if I had an island.

Judy, my perimeter cabinets are Alabaster. I didn't want a bright white and it's also not too creamy.
