An actual floor plan with details is always a good idea. I like to start with the bed , you need a headboard . What style do you like ? I looked at your idea books it seems you like a more traditional style so choose a headboard that works with that style . I like duvets only with more simple styling in a contempory space. With your style more tailored bedding is nice.A mattelasse coverlet with your quilt folded at the end would give you a nice clean look with a wood headboard or even a tufted one would work. You have space for some nice chest type night tables with nice lamps. The pic shows a coverlet like I am talking about . I might just go with a runner on either side of the bed since it really does not seem like a good place for a rug since most of it would be hidden since IMO rugs under beds really only work if they extend to where you put your feet on rising. Please post a floor plan for us to really get to work.

It's going to be beautiful. The nice thing about multi color quilts are that you have a lot of options. It's also a great keepsake that deserves to be used. You DO need a headboard. Upholstered are nice. I like white blinds mounted inside the windows plus blackout drapery for best sleep.

Here is a room with slipcovered headboards but the look would be inviting in your room. It is very casual. Are you thinking more formal?

Upholstered headboards have a tendency to spot if you read in bed and rest your head on it unless you use a euro pillow or something to protect it. That is why I like the slip covered look, wood or Seagrass. Do you have one you are considering?

I don’t but am going to google now. I agree-I feel that white would Be good in the space but worry about it getting dingy looking fast. I like the white wood beachy look but seagrass is an intriguing idea. Can you wash the upholstered ones-do they have a removable cover? And what do other folks think about a rug?

I think a rug would be nice when getting out of bed. That may be the one thing to concentrate on right now to go with the quilt.

I think Pottery barn has a linen slipcover for a headboard. I bought my headboard at the Pottery barn outlet. Sometimes they have 40% off their prices.

Your bedroom has such a nice layout, you don’t have to work around any negatives. I couldn’t find the wall color online. Is it a white or slightly blue? At any rate it looks nice.

White linens are my favorite. They are easy to bleach and always look fresh. I do have an upholstered linen look headboard but I am careful to use a euro pillow while reading in bed. I wouldn’t choose one again unless it had a washable cover.

Rooms to Go used to have a nice cottage style wood bed. One of the paneled beds. You could go with a lighter pine too. If you find something you like, post it here if you want opinions. We have a lot of those.
