Why don't you create some wing walls and a wide casing to create a distinct space separation between the two spaces? That would help with the issue and still leave it open.

That is an EXCELLENT idea and now that I've "seen" it in my head, I can't unsee it and how beautiful it would be! Unfortunately I don't think budget/time will permit an undertaking like that but I would for sure consider it in the future! Any other thoughts?

How about a centerpiece on the table instead?

What about taking the little table that's in the corner by the mug rack and putting it in the opposite corner instead? This would leave the wall with the curtains uncluttered. Then you can get a pretty floral arrangement to put on that table.

It's hard to tell on my monitor but it looks like you have some desert type plants in your window. What about a succulent and arrangement for a centerpiece for your table? Like maybe something like this:

Someone just reminded me I was going to suggest you remove the two corner tables. They don't look substantial enough to hold a large fern, but a fern would look great flanking the doors. You need a taller pedestal for them though. If that electrical outlet weren't placed so weirdly, you could set up a neat coffee bar there with your mug rack.

I think the hanging shelf and mug rack is very cleaver, but perhaps both belong in the kitchen They are a big too casual for the room.

I have added drapes to your window to be consistent, selected a larger light fixture and suggest that some colorful art in needed in the area. I like what you have done with the room, but it just needs some fine tuning.
