Master bedroom - bigger closet or sitting area?

I am remodeling our master bedroom and have included the following below: Current Plan (closet next to bathroom) Proposed Plan (closet and new office on left) and the elevations by the bed

I am torn whether I should make the closet smaller and add more room space? Or keep a big dreamy closet.

Couldn't say if it could serve as a bedroom b/c

1. the dimensions in the images uploaded are too small/blurry to read =) and

2. depends on the definition of a bedroom... where I live, definition of a bedroom is has to have a secondary egress and the smallest dimension has to be ≥7' (no requirement for i.e. a closet)

- If you want to market it as a bedroom, it would probably be more attractive if it didn't share a wall with the master (privacy!).... all depends!!

Big closet! How much time do you spend hanging out in your room, other than for sleeping? You can never have too much storage

It can either be a 10x14 closet or 10x10 closet. I love the idea of a dreamy closet (and I can put an island in the bigger one) but nervous if I make it too big and make the room feel small.

I would pick the closet over a sitting area any day.

Obvs it depends on your needs! Maybe you could do a combination of both?

- move bed into corner == two walls for windows

- room for an office area

- having the closet and bath in the same area == someone can get ready without traversing back & forth through the bedroom (and possibly waking the other person)

- lots of room for a reach in closet opposite the walk-in closet (linen storage; shoes; out of season stuff; etc)

- I might remove the shelves from the bathroom - your WC is a bit tight (where do you stand once you're inside & want to close the door??) If you remove the shelves you can push out the length of the WC
