replace the lighting, frame in the mirror, I would remove the part of the mirror that is over the tub. Paint the cabinet, add hardware. I might see what the cost would be just to replace the tile on the tub face.

I would change the lighting, add white batten strips to the walls and paint, add some colorful art and accessories and leave the rest. It looks better than most we see here. Very architectural which is appropriate.

to me the framed shower glass feels very dated.

So much good here, but that counter is killing it for me...Replace the counters with something plain...and a frameless shower door. You don't want to add to the confusion, here. Simplify.

Thank you everyone! Affirms my impression about the shower door and the counter. Will look into lighting and framing the mirror and then decide on adding hardware. We just need to sell our current house to get the $:) Good advice too about the grab bars, as much as I don't like them, we may be stuck and as my husband is 61 and in good health, you never know.

No matter age, good to be safe and have grab bars, but Kohler has a new system that doesn't look geriatric in design.. Choreograph is the name. Bars come in different lengths.

Accessories include teak shelves, though you can hold bath items on the shelf/bar.

Here is an option for lighting above and below the mirror and surface mounted sinks.

Crate & Barrel has some really great towel storage accessories.

You can always store linens on the wall.

You have time to decide on the counter, but that would be a priority for me over anything else. Also...I kind of like the existing light...it doesn't go against the mcm look for me like the counter does.

Thank you! Love the grab bar suggestion!! That could be the perfect solution for those if they are the right size. The light doesn't look bad in person - I think the wide angle lens captured the underside. Any suggestions for stone and color for the counter? I think some contrast in needed between the tub and the light tiles under the tub. Thanks!

If the existing light is fluorescent, and the tubes are 4ft long, there is a new LED tube which can replace the fluorescent tube. The quality of the light is quite good.

Well, just throwing it out there, but. concrete? If you could be assured of the same color as the floor, I feel like it goes with the look...Of course, the walls would have to be painted something other than gray, but that's a given, I hope.

Wouldn't you want 2 sinks? Seems like you have the space..

Yes, there are 2 sinks and a whole area to the left that has the toilet and a huge cabinet. I like that top photo -could be something a bit lighter than the floor and then a tint on the wall like paper white from Benjamin M. I think we are on to something!! Thank you!

Hello all - we closed on the house this week so was able to spend more time and discovered that the counters are actually much prettier in person. I had my contractor take and look and he said to switch those out would be a major job - might as well redo the whole thing. I also realized the color of the cabinets don't go with either the floor tile or the counter - they are closer to a blue. We can remove the doors and get those spray painted a different color. Any suggestions based on this photo and the previous one? Was thinking a light grey - or even an ivory. There is a large cabinet to the right that isn't pictured in the same color as well as a desk in the small room connecting the bathroom and bedroom. I don't have an issue with the color for the home office. Will have to paint the walls too but will do that anyhow with a new mirror and maybe lighting. Thank you!!
