Are you quilting this weekend? March 29-31

Hello Quilters! What have you been quilting this week? I finally had some time in my sewing room yesterday to finish cutting out a quilt. My secret pal at quilt guild gave me a batik jelly roll last year and I finally decided on a pattern for it. I'm using Hanging Gardens by Cozy Quilts.

We had a guild meeting on Tuesday and we had a fat quarter swap. You received a ticket for each FQ you brought in. They had so many that there were 3 tickets drawn. I had the first ticket picked and had my choice of stacks. I took in 2 FQs and brought home 21. The theme was green.

This weekend I plan to work on a quilt that is in the frame and also to continue working on my Hanging Gardens quilt. What are your quilting plans?

No quilting yet. My grandkids were here in Hawaii for 6 days with us. I know why we have children while we are young. I'm exhausted. Hiking, snorkeling, swimming, laundry, dishes, etc., etc. But they had a wonderful time, and I'm so happy I did it.

Now I'm packing stuff to send home and giving things away. All the furniture and dishes, sheets, towels, etc., will be sold with the condo, since this is an investment property. But all our personal things need to be sent home or given away. It's a melancholy time, but I think both my DH and I are ready for life's next adventure. We have a couple of nibbles on the condo, but nothing firm yet. We get home this Wednesday. I can't wait to get back to my sewing room, after the taxes are done, that is.

Linda, your guild sounds like fun! You may inspire me to go back to the guild here.

I've been crocheting in the evenings. I had a gazillion small balls of yarn that came from my mom's house and I've been making squares with them. When they are all done I'll assemble them into lap robes for the nearby nursing home. So far I have 85 squares, and I still have enough little balls of yarn to make at least 10 more.

I don't have specific sewing plans for the weekend. I found a potential pattern to use for my month in the BOM so I may make a test block of it. And I need to make 28 Jacob's Ladder blocks for my Monterrey Medallion quilt, so I may start on those.

I will probably take a short break from quilting since I already have nine quilts ready for the bazaar. But I will clean up from the last one and pull some fabrics for burp cloths and/or place mats.

Linda, I did Hanging Gardens several years ago and was so disappointed with my fabric choices, I took it all apart and used the bits in other quilts. But I am inspired to do it again, since I have seen several versions lately that I like. Good luck with yours.

No quilting for me. We are in Miami and boarding a ship in the morning for a 15 day Panama Canal cruise. After that, home to Colorado and get ready for the quilt retreat. I am so anixous to get back to sewing!

I have to finish the table topper to drop off at church tomorrow. I may cut up more scraps. I just plan on a quiet, recharging weekend.

Glad you had a good time with the grands. And the right buyer for the condo is out there, just waiting for the right time.

I have been starting to downsize lately, the flood was a good start. But, I look around and see so much that the children would have to take care when 'cometh the day". and yes it is a melancholy time.

Anyway your sewing room will welcome you back!
