I just used it in my kitchen and bathrooms. Its lovely. The backslash is light grey subway tiles and white tile with a taupe vein for floor.

You won’t regret it, looks great.

We also just redid our kitchen and used Pitaya granite. We are so happy with how our kitchen turned out.

Brandy Stoeckle white subway tile did you go with? We recently purchased pitaya white after changing from a white quartz and are worried about our backsplash choice that we decided on before we changed . Yours looks great!

That should work. Are you having under cabinet lighting? I like ours but it changes the color of the tiles.

Hi Brandy. I am considering Pitaya for my bar in the basement. Can you tell me what color cabinets you have. They look white from the pictures but are they a warmer or cooler white? I have BM white dove which is a bit warmer. Just wondering if Pitaya would go with them. Thanks!

Hi Michele. The color on our cabinets is called moonshine. It’s more of a gray but it can appear lighter, like a white, in the right lighting.

@Brandy Stoeckle @Carlos Robles @modred we are considering pitaya for our countertop as well. Based on your use so far could you comment on its susceptibility to stains? Also, how tolerant was it to being sealed? I ask because I have read that some white granites either do not seal or change their appearance after being sealed.

We have only had our granite for 9 months so far and we have no stains. I do clean the countertops daily or every other day. At a year we will reseal and then I can comment on that.

Brandy do you think I could mix 2 bundles of pitaya white? Our original bundle we found to have a flaw. I am thinking of using the large sheet for our island and the smaller for our perimeter. The pitayas are from different bundles. Ty!!

Looking at Pitaya for kitchen countertops now. Cabinet are SW snowbound. Island is SW pewter green. Black hardware. Just not sure about backsplash. Would white subway tile be too much white? Maybe a light gray grout?

We chose pure white for our cabinets and selected a white subway for backsplash with light gray grout. Back splash not in yet but can show an updated pic when complete.

I’ve been looking for info on pitaya and there isnt a ton out there I love all the posted pics . I’m planning to use pitaya counters with medium to dark gray (SW Dorian, Winchester, Gauntlet, or Dovetail) cabinets, brown wood floors, black hardware, and a white subway tile back splash. Anyone have a similar look they can share? Will the medium to dark cabinets be too much? Those who used glass whote subway tiles, can you post a finished pic? I forgot to mention that we did a brushed finish.

How is the brushed finish holding up? We wanted that but our fabricator is telling us it’s a ton more upkeep than polished.

It looks great. I wasn’t told that. We’ve had it since last August.

We did have it sealed and supposedly we won’t have to reseal.

Can anybody tell me if Pitaya is really white or does it read cream or yellow? Just visited a slab in person and it looked a little too cream for me?

Just put it in my kitchen and major disappointment Many of the black dots are pitted and surface is not smooth Toyched up pits with epoxy but would never use again & dont recommend looks like dirty snow with the grey veins

@Shannon Karten I know this is a old post but we just did the leather look in the Pitaya. I was looking for idea's for backsplash colors and saw your post. We went with the leather look because we had black granite before and it showed everything so i figured leather vs glossy won't show fingerprints as much after 10 years of dealing with black.

I know this is an old thread, but hoping those that installed the Pitaya some years ago might check in about how it's been holding up. I just got a house and plan to remodel the kitchen. I love the clean look of quartz, but for many reasons want granite, and Pitaya is the plainest white/ish granite I've seen. Worried about stains due to the color, and would love to hear your experiences. Thanks!

I still love mine, and there are no stains

We put the leathered finish Pitaya granite in our kitchen 4 years ago. I love it so much I'd do the same thing today. It is so easy to maintain and doesn't show fingerprints like our old black granite did. I'm sure the shiny finish would be better than the black granite but the leathered finish for us was the way to go.

@resolution516 did you yse the same stone for your backsplash - the Pitaya - or did you use tile?

We actually have a stainless steel backsplash. It's solid stainless I had custom made. I have seen many pics of tile backsplash that I like as well but this worked best for me and the cost wasn't much different.

I have looked at slabs of Pitaya /Extreme white recently, and was disappointed that they looked too warm for my cool, bright white cabinets. Then I was sent a sample, and it was a perfect, bright white match. So frustrating since the sample does not reflect the slabs currently available. :(
