kids room help

My Kids room is mainly white and blue but I’ve been looking for simple solutions for to add layers and decore ... their duvet cover insert should be coming in soon and I’m leaning more towards yellow as an accent color. Any suggestions on wall decore and duvet cover.

I love the wall color. Is this a boys or girls room? I'd look for something a little narrower for between the beds do the beds can be moved off the wall a bit for easier bed making.

Could you post a picture of the duvet? That will really help with the wall color. And what are the genders of your children? I think I see a boy head in one of your pics.

I painted my daughter's room yellow, and we both love it. Her room always feels so warm and cozy to be in. It is a south facing room, though, sometimes yellows don't work in darker rooms. I think a new light fixture or ceiling fan would really improve the look. Are the blinds throughout the home the darker wood? If not, I would swap this one out for white.

Yes the bed can be moved off of the bed some more and it’s a boys and girls room which is why I was thinking of yellow?

Hi CLC, oops didn’t mean to put him in there but it’s for both boy and girl, the room is facing east, and I have not bought the actual cover for the down but did get the down

Yellow would be a good gender neutral choice! I agree that the furniture appears kind of packed in there. Could the cubby fit where the plant is, by chance? I would look for a smaller piece between the beds, or consider just having the two beds on that wall with nothing in between them. You could pull the beds about a foot from the walls, and instead of squeezing a table next to the beds, you can use some floating shelves on each wall as their "nightstands"

Obviously there would be no room for table lamp, but they would have a spot to keep a few books and special trinkets. We did this in one of my daughter's rooms (no room for a nightstand) and it works well for us.

Paint the fan to match the ceiling: it’s oppressive.

Thankyou all so much for your insight and ideas I truly appreciate them, yes the cubby can fit where the plant is and a real plant would be awesome. I never really realized the fan because all the fans are that color in the house but I guess in a kids room that dark brown is extremely noticeable. My kids are 4 years apart but for a boy and girl I though yellow would be nice and cheery on either end. I will definitely keep y’all updated on everything. Thanks bunches once again

Did you finish the room? If you haven't chosen another color, I found this nursery with green, which definitely works at any age.

    Here are some art ideas:

This is probably more yellow than you were thinking...

We think the wall color is really nice, however we might add some artwork over each bed and also a nigh stand in between the beds with a lamp.

Hey, everybody, I have a little baby. And I'm also planning a children's room now, I stumbled upon this forum, I like it very much, a lot of new ideas in my head now. But my sister also has a child and they have a problem with the wardrobe and chest of drawers. So I think now how to solve this problem for me, maybe someone has already used Child Proof Cabinet Locks or maybe there are some good ideas about this problem.

I would be very grateful for your answer. Thank you.

Cynthia, please start your own dilemma rather than hijacking this one.

Cynthia is new so probably is not aware that creating her own thread is the best way to get an answer rather than asking on someone else’s dilemma.

Cynthia- what we are hoping you do is create your own Design Dilemma. Pick a catchy title and post it here and we will jump over and help you out.

Oh, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I'll do as you said.

Despite the room is small, it looks really good. Especially I like blue-colored walls, this color is the best choice for a kid's room. I looked through your photos and should notice your house looks pretty at all.

But I think it is a suitable time to renew the furniture in a kid's room because kids should feel comfortable while resting at home. You can check must-have baby items and find whatever you need for your house.

    Good luck!
