Front entry design help needed

Recently bought a 1940’s Dutch Colonial house in upstate NY and would love any ideas for giving the exterior mudroom entry some definition and curb appeal. It’s a South facing entry and I am already planning to re do the flagstone path and I will paint the front door red (like photo shopped red in picture). What else can I DIY add or change for more of a modern farmhouse feel?
